2024 Shop Update

Hey TPK, following up on the shop update that has now rolled out. As mentioned in the previous news post, we have cut down on the amount of new Pokémon quite a bit. There are a few reasons for this, however the primary one is that not many shop Pokémon were being purchased throughout the year. Not every Pokémon is going to be a winner or highly sought after but seeing a majority of the shop Pokémon having a rarity below 20 in-game is quite disappointing to say the least. On top of that, most of the Pokémon which exceeded that rarity number were likely purchased in bulk to roll for a (?) gendered one. Our focus this year was adding less "generic" Pokémon and more legends instead.

Those with a keen eye will also have noticed that there are now only two rows of Pokémon with rotation times! The brand-new Pokémon featured in the shops will be available for purchase all year now. The second row features all of the normal legends (plus a couple of "new" ones) that have been purchasable in the shops throughout the years, rotating on a weekly basis. Each of the core four shops (Pokémon, Minigame, Mining, Battle) now supports all of those legends simultaneously, so if you prefer to grind a specific currency, you can now hold out until the legend you're looking for is featured in that shop for the week.

For the first row we are now introducing what we have dubbed Flash Sales! These first three slots feature Pokémon from the long-forgotten past, most of which have gone nearly extinct due to player inactivity. We have seen lots of concerns from more recent players regarding the ability to get their hands on some of these mons, and while we do believe that rarity preservation is important, if the rarity is generally just low from reduced interest/player population then the rarity is very superficial. However, these flash sales will not feature any typed legendaries from the past years, as those deserve to appreciate in value.

Lastly, we have decided to remove the TL13 shop Pokémon entirely. We determined that it is not really a sustainable thing to upkeep as we're running out of combinations of legends to feature in there, let alone ones that people would be interested in paying a premium price for. Apologies to anyone that was looking forward to a new batch.
