Happy Holidays!

Time really flies, it feels like just yesterday we put out the new shop Pokémon and everyone was scambling to get some of the new goodies. This post is not for that though, we're about a week away from that still. It's time for our annual Christmas event!

Event Details
The Christmas event from last year received a lot of positive feedback, so we're bringing it back with some small changes. We took some time to give it a balance pass and updates to the rewards. The event will last from now until the end of the year (December 24th - December 31st). Make sure to thank Cutie for the event sprites!

If you were not here for the event last year, you will find all of the information that you need on the event page, but here is a brief guide to participating:
1. You will need to collect Ingredients from Pokémon on the maps by catching, battling, or releasing them. Different types of Pokémon will give different types of ingredients (e.g: Normal types give Kingdom Salt)
2. You will also need to collect Abstracts from opening chests in the Secret Dungeon. Every time you open a chest, you have a chance to receive a random abstract.
3. Finally, you will need to gather Holiday Essence from completing tasks in the Team Headquarters. The amount of Team Credits you receive is equal to the amount of Holiday Essence you receive.

There are 12 different treats that you can bake using the various materials, and each recipe is listed on the event page. Once you have successfully baked a treat, you will be able to gift it to a random player that is currently online (not yourself!) If you receive a gift, you may open it via your bag on the Pokémon Center page.

Mobile Rates Reversion
This has been a long time coming. Back in the days of TPK Green, and even the early stages of TPK Blue, mobile training was very dominant. While B0sh and I had no intentions of nerfing the EXP. rates, we were aware of how effortless it was to train on mobile while still typically being faster than training with a mouse. Previous management came in later and basically gutted mobile rates. Once we came back around last year, we noticed that nobody was actively playing on mobile anymore as a result, and wanted to start working towards a solution. We brought the rates in line with what we thought would be a reasonable comparison to mouse training, but we've still seen people asking for mobile to get a buff again. This time, we're going to completely revert it to be equal to PC. So now, you will earn the same EXP. and money per battle on mobile as you would on a PC. We will be keeping an eye on the numbers, but overall we don't think it's going to break the game if people are able to train faster. trainer level 14 is a meme now anyways :(

Shop Changes Inbound
This is a final reminder that a majority of the Pokémon currently in the shops will be gone permanently (or at least for a very long time). Here is a detailed list of what will be leaving, if you want to grab some last minute things: Click!

Game Maintenance and EXP. Boost
In order to ensure the shop changes and other minor updates for the new year go smoothly, we will be putting TPK in maintenance mode on December 31st, at 7:00PM TPK time. Regardless of if you claim your daily gift or not on that day, your streak will not be reset.

To kick off the new year, we will have a global 2x EXP. boost going for the entire day. This boost applies to: Pokémon/Trainer EXP, Map/Fishing EXP, Mining/Smelting EXP, and also money gains.

That's all for now, folks. Enjoy the holidays, and have a TPK day! ~Altios
